DO IT YOURSELF : HOME MADE THREE-IN-ONE CLEANSER,EXFOLIATOR AND MASK.

Hello every one.. hope you are all doing good. its been ages since i blogged.. today am here with a quick post. Its a diy skin care recipe. i tried it personally on myself . My skin is already feeling the difference. It can be used as a cleanser or a scrub or a mask..If you google for skin care recipes am sure you will come up with tones and tones of home made recipes..but today am gonna share something different, something which is self sufficient, something which solves so many purposes.  It is hundred percent natural. I have been using this recipe for past three weeks and i absolutely loved this recipe so am here to share it with you guys. Ill show you how i made it , how i stored it and how to use it.

These are the ingredients.. powdered oats, gram flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric, powdered green tea, and finally milk powder. my skin is getting dry lately so am using milk powder. even people with normal skin can use milk powder in this recipe. but oily skin people can replace milk powder with rice powder.

USAGE :

take 1/4 th teaspoon of each ingredients and mix it with lil bit of water and make it as a paste.. as i mentioned earlier it can be used as a cleanser or a scrub or a mask.

This is how it looks when you mix all the ingredients together. you can also mix honey and make it as a paste.. honey is a natural moisturizer and skin brightener. this can solve so many purposes.

PROS

1. it cleanses the skin
2. remove the dead cells
3. brightens the skin
4. remove tan
5. moisturizes the skin.
6. it contains green tea which is packed with anti oxidants
7. it has termeric, which kills germs.
8. it prevent acne.
9. hundred percent natural
10. improves skin texture
11. remove blackheads and whiteheads.
12. visible result in few days.
13. all the ingredients are easily available.
14. no side effects.

You can also use any one or more ingredients. you can mix and match these ingredients according to your skin type.

I personally love the combo of oats and milk powder..oats is an excellent tan remover and skin brightener.. it even reduces irritation or redness on the skin.. it makes my skin super soft.

I also love using green tea on its own. green tea helps in preventing acne and acts as a deep cleanser.  or if you have super dry skin mix milk powder with lil bit of water and massage your skin for a while.. it is gonna make your skin smooth and soft.

and talking about the gram flour and termeric, it is an age old recipe in skin care. it is excellent in removing  dead skin cells.

i store all these ingredients in this stackable container. it is so convinient to use. i kinda play with theses ingredients. when i feel my skin needs more exfoliation, ill add more green tea or if i feel my skin is getting dry ill use more milk powder. If i feel like pampering my skin a bit, ill make a mask and leave it on for twenty minutes and then rinse it off. It is so versatile and safe recipe..

I hope you liked it thank you :-)

REVIEW ON THE FAIR AND LOVELY BB CREAM

Hi guys..welcome to my blog.. its my second post for the day :-) okay lets directly jump into the subject.. it is a review on the fair n lovely bb cream. bb creams are the best invention made by the human kind.. i love bb and cc creams.. it just makes the work easier. I have done a comparative review on bb creams that are affordable before.. if you havent seen that yet, you can read it HERE.. Fair n lovely has launched a bb cream few months ago. I was so excited to try this one because it is super affordable..

PRICE : INR 49 for 9gm

SHELF LIFE : 2 yrs.

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS

INGREDIENT LIST

It comes in a cute little packaging. It comes in a tube with white plastic cap. It has a pointy tip to get minimal product out of the tube..

It has a typical fair n lovely fragrance. It has a smooth texture to it.. it spreads easily. It has spf 15 which is good..But it enhances the dry patches on the skin. it makes the skin really dry.. it claims that it gives matte finish but there is a difference between being matte and being dry. It makes my skin look dry and it melts away easily when i sweat.

It comes in a single shade and it is too light for any average indian skin tone.. it is gonna suit only people with fairer skin tone. it does not cover any spot or blemishes. it does not cover my under eye dark circles either. when i tried to bulid up the coverage by using more product , it made me look cakey and dry.

It will best suit for people with oily skin and fairer skin tone. by the term '' fairer'' i mean people with almost pale skin tone. Its that light. it does not give any coverage. I use this bb cream as my eye shadow base.. it makes the color more vibrant and pop out really well.

PROS

1. cute packaging
2. affordable
3. it makes the eye shadow look vibrant when used as a eye shadow base.
4. contains spf 15

CONS

1. enhances the dry patch
2. makes the skin dry
3. does not give any coverage
4. comes in a single shade which will suite only for fairer toned girls.
5. it melts away when i sweat.
6. turns ashy when you apply lil bit excess.

MY RATINGS

1/5

THANK YOU  :-)

REVIEW ON JOVEES STRAWBERRY FACE WASH

Hello everyone... have a wonderful week ahead.. :-) its monday morning and i am all pepped up for the week.. i am starting my week by blogging :-) today i have a review for you all. it is on a face wash from jovees called JOVEES STRAWBERRY FACE WASH..  I want my face washes to be moisturizing or at least it should not make my skin dry... i have tried so many face washes in the past. Out of all i loved the clean and clear face wash. I have used all the variants from clean and clear.. They all worked  well for me.
My skin is quite normal but when the climate change, it can become lil bit dry. I picked up this face wash especially because, it claims to keep the skin moisture balanced and not to make the skin dry. I have used a toner from jovees and i liked it a lot.. It gave me a good impression on the brand '' jovees''. So i wanted to give this a shot..

I have been using this face wash for past two weeks.. and i am already here to share my view on it..

PRICE : INR 130 for 120 ml

SHELF LIFE : 3 years.

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS???

INGREDIENT LIST :

strawberry extract, jojoba extract, vitamin e, olivem.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE JOVEES STRAWBERRY FACE WASH.

I love the packaging because its pink :-) that is what actually initially attracted me towards this face wash. It is a tube with flip open cap. Tt is sturdy. The face wash has gel like texture and it has big red ball like granules and tiny white granules in it, which helps in lil bit of exfoliation but not much. It produces creamy lather. and it smells like sweet candies which i love.

It cleanses my skin well. but it makes my skin dry after five minutes. i can feel the dryness on my face. so post moisturisation is absolutely necessary. It claims that it makes the skin '' fairer glowing '' but i havent noticed any glow or fairness so far . Its just an other typical face wash that cleanses well but doesnt do anything much.. It says that it is for normal to dry skin but i feel its not gonna work for dry skin..oily to normal skin people can use it.

PROS

1. pretty packaging
2. smells really nice
3. cleanses well.

CONS

1. Makes the skin dry
2. complete ingredient list is not mentioned
3. on the whole it does not fulfill any of its claim.

MY RATING

2.5/5

THANK YOU :-)

BEAUTY HACK : HOW TO USE UP MAKEUP KITS / SETS THAT ARE LESS PIGMENTED..

Hello ladies.. happy sunday.. hope you are all enjoying the weekend.. today am gonna share a tip with you all.. simple but effective. :-) okay.. if you are a makeup/ beauty lover like me, you probably might have started your makeup journey with a small makeup kit that you got as a gift from your relatives or your friends..at least that is where my journey started.. i used to get these makeup kits as a gift from my relatives at a very young age , when i knew nothing about makeup.. nothing but the colors attracted me in those makeup kits..i honestly never used those kits or sets how ever you wish to call them. And after couple of years they traveled directly to the trash. End of the story :-P So in this post i am sharing my tips on how to use up these makeup kits rather than throwing them without using them.

Even now i am getting these kinds of makeup sets.. recently i got one from my sister who went on a trip to singapore.. these kits comes with different shades of eye shadows and blushes. some of the shades are really pretty but they are not pigmented..

look at all those pretty colors.. but am definitely not going to use many of these colors.. when it comes to eye shadows i always prefer browns, bronze, gold, copper.. all those neutral shades.. these shades goes really well with all indian outfits.. if i feel lil crazy ill try purples and dark blues.. because those two colors compliments brown eyes really well..but the problem with these eye shadows are they are not that pigmented. of course you can use eye primer to make these pop out.. but eye primers are quite expensive. primers in general are expensive.. so here is what i usually do.. i use bb creams as my eye primer and it works as good as a primer..

Now i have experimented this trick for you all..

i picked up three of my favorite shades and experimented it with and without a bb cream. now take a closer look at it.

I used bb cream on top and in the bottom its just the eye shadow with out any base. The one with the bb cream as a base is more vibrant than the other. It stays for a longer time as well.
to test their longitivity i tried rubbing them with my hands and here is what happened.

As you can see, the one with the bb cream underneath stayed better. i used fair n lovely bb cream in case if you are wondering.. i dont like this particular bb cream but it works really well as an eyeshadow primer.. same with your foundations. you can even use your foundation to make the colors pop out.

These makeup kits comes with pretty blushes as well.. they are not pigmented either.. but i like my blushes to be less pigmented because when a blush is crazily pigmented it makes me look like a clown. but when it is less pigmented i can build up the color to my desire.

These sets or kits also comes with mini brushes which never solved its purpose ;-).. but i use them in some other ways.

it comes with a sponge tip eyeshadow applicator.. but i never use it for eye shadow application i use it as a smudging tool.. it is a very good smudging tool. some of the brushes in the above pic is lil dirty coz i used them for smudging.. And those lil blush brush can be used as a highlighter brush.. they are really good in high lighting.. and it comes with an eye pencil which is not that pigmented.. i use it as my eyebrow pencil.. i used to go very light handed with these pencils on my eyebrows and smudge it with my sponge tip applicator.. It also comes with a lip brush, which actually works really well as a lip brush itself but the problem is , the bristles easily comes off.. so i use it couple of times and throw them away..

And here comes another part storage... i have five of these kits.. i like only few colors from each of the kits.. its not possible for me to store all of these kits on my vanity.. so here is what i did.

I scrapped off my favorite colors from these kits and i stored them like this.. i have demonstrated three different ways to store them.. i stored them in a small container , i stored some of the colors in self lock covers and i even used my old contact lense case.. this way i can have all my favorite shades from these makeup sets on my vanity without having to keep those large sets as a whole. Now i can store away rest of the makeup kits somewhere in my cupboard or somewhere else.

I hope this was useful in some way to you all. THANK YOU :-)

REVIEW ON HIMALAYA HERBALS UNDER EYE CREAM

Hi everyone.. happy weekend.. its been ages since i blogged... but yeah i am back again after hundred years ;-) today am gonna talk about an under eye cream from himalaya herbals..  I do have dark circles but nothing dramatic, it can be hidden under a good concealor . But having a good, problem free skin is important right..!!!!!! so i tried few other under eye creams as well but nothing worked for me :-( i was still searching for a good eye cream, that is when i found this under eye cream from himalaya.

PRICE : INR 165 for 15ml

SHELF LIFE : 3 years.

Lets see what the product says

"Himalaya herbal healthcare is a range of natural, effective and safe products that use special herbs carefully selected from nature. combining the best of ayurveda with years of scientific research, these products effectively restore your skin's natural health and vitality."

INGREDIENT LIST : aqua, propyleneglycol, mineral oil, caprylic/capric triglycerine, paraffin, cetyl alcohol, steareth-2, glyceryl stearth SE, steareth-21, petrolatum, cetearyl alcohol, carbomer, triethonalamine, xanthan gum, tocopheryl acetate, methylparaben, bergenia ligulata root extract, cipadessa baccifera flower/leaf/stem extract, triticum vulgare germ oil, propylparaben, disodium EDTA, imidazolidinyl urea...

Thats a lot of chemicals :-/ one thing i dont like about the himalaya herbals is that they say they are herbal products but contains hell a lot of chemicals in them. and they contain paraben which is not so cool.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT :

It comes in a cute tube packaging. It is very travel friendly. It has a pointy tip for easy application of product which is really nice.

it has a very light texture.. it gets absorbed easily.. it does not feel greasy at all. i even tried using bb cream on top of it, it did not melt my bb cream away. you just have to give it a lil time before using any makeup. The product says it reduces 50 percent of the dark circles in four weeks.. I really wanted know whether it works . I started using it on 20th of june and today is august 2nd, which is obviously more than 4 weeks.. I religiously used it twice daily, once in the morning and once in the night, from 20 th of june to 20th of july which is exactly 4 weeks.. it reduced my dark circle to an extent.. nothing significant but the difference is noticeable, at least they dont claim to make any huge difference. It did nothing with the fine lines though. Then i stopped using it on 21st july within 3 to 4 days i noticed my dark circle was getting deeper again. so i started using it again and now the dark circle is fading out a lil bit.

This is how much i use on each of my eyes.. just a drop is more than enough. 18ml tube will last you for two and half months exactly,if you use one drop of cream on each under eye area, twice daily. it doesnt have any fragrance or smell to it.. its just plain.

PROS

1. affordable
2. the texture is very light
3. moisturizes the under eye area
4. does not melt away the makeup that i put on top
5. convinient packaging
6. it reduces dark circle to an extent.

CONS

1. it does nothing with the fine lines
2. it doesnt reduces dark circle significantly. i mean it works but slowly
3. i dont see any brightening action taking place on my under eye area as they claim.
4. i am getting dark circle shortly after stop using the product. it works like a temporary thing.

MY FINAL OPINION

Over all it is a good under eye moisturizer which reduces dark circle to an extent.. people with heavy under eye dark circles are not going to be benefited out this product. but for those who have slight under eye dark circle you can see visible difference in a month.

MY RATINGS

2.9 /5

THANK YOU :-)

REVIEW ON GARNIER FRUCTIS OIL-IN-CREAM OIL REPLACEMENT CREAM

Hi lovlies.. happy sunday :-) i have a shopping plan today am so excited about that.. obviously every girl will be happy and excited when it comes to shopping :-) so before i get into my shopping drama i thought i should blog a review on a product today that everyone's been talking about currently or i should say flaunting about :-P its a hair care product from garnier which is called GARNIER FRUCTIS OIL-IN-CREAM OIL REPLACEMENT CREAM. I am a huge fan of hair oiling.. i prepare my own hair oil at home with my moms old recipe which never let me down.. i do overnight oiling twice a week..

I first saw this product on instagram and i immediately googled the product and i saw some good reviews on it and so i wanted to try this product.. i picked up mine in H&G near me.. :-) they had two different sizes and i picked up the small one.. just to try it first.. i cannot say i love the product but i like it a lot.. just so convinient to use.. i use this cream as a leave-in-conditioner or a frizz taming cream on the go.. :-)

PRICE : 60 rs for 100ml

SHELF LIFE : 36 months

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS :

INGREDIENT LIST :

As you can see, am too lazy to type all those product description and ingredients list.. posting a picture is lot more easier ;-) " A picture is worth a thousand words " they say.. so.. yeah.. lets stick to the concept :-P

PACKAGING

To me personally packaging doesnt even matters.. if its functional, that is all i want :) this product comes in a very attractive packaging.. it is definitely gonna grab your attention at stores.. it comes in a yellow tube as you can see with a flip open cap which is sturdy so its not gonna break and leak when you take it in your hand bag.

FRAGRANCE :

i love the smell of it.. it smells so fruity..i currently use dove shampoo which smells really nice.. its smell stays for a very long time.. this hair cream covers the fragrance of the dove shampoo.. i can smell only my cream and not my shampoo :-) but it lasts only for about 8 to 9 hours after which it kinda fades away..

TEXTURE :

It looks and feels like a normal conditioner. :-) i need not explain much about the texture now.. but when you apply it on your hair.. it makes your hair lil wet looking and it get absorbed in just five minutes.

PERFORMANCE :

I once shampooed my hair without conditioning it.. my hair in general is quite dry.. i applied this cream after towel drying my hair.. it felt exactly the same way as it would have felt when i used a hair conditioner while shampooing my hair.. it does not feel sticky at all.

It tames my frizz and makes my hair much more manageable. it does not give a huge amount of shine to my hair but it definitely makes my hair soft. This effect lasts only for a day.. the next day you might have to reapply the  cream.. my ends some times feels extraordinarily dry.. i use this on my ends to just to smoothen it up a bit.. It helps detangling my hair. but i cannot say my comb just slides through my hair but it definitely makes the process easier.

Looking at the ingredients list am afraid to use this on my scalp or to use it as my overnight hair mask.. so s it definitely is not a replacement for oil. but it is a good leave-in-conditioner and a frizz tamer..

PROS

1. Tames frizz
2. Makes my hair soft and smooth.
3. Helps in detangling
4. smells really nice
5. affordable

CONS

1. The smooth effect doesnt last for more than a day
2. ingredient list is a paragraph full of chemicals :-/

SUMMING UP MY REVIEW :

I would not say it completely replaces my good old hair oil. But it makes the hair much more manageable. and it makes the hair smell really fruity and fresh. its a good product over all.

MY RATING

3.9/5 ( looking at the claims they make awarding 4 would not do justice.. but its overall a good buy )

THANK YOU :-)

REVIEW ON LOTUS HERBALS APRISCRUB

Hello ladies :-) hope you are all doing good.. weekend is here and its time to relax ourselves from busy schedules.. Today i am gonna talk about my current skin care favorite.. i have been loving this stuff recently so much :-) .. and its a face scrub by LOTUS called ''LOTUS HERBALS APRISCRUB''.. I love exfoliating my skin regularly.. it makes my skin soft and get rid of my dead cells.. I exfoliate my skin once in three days.. I have few recipes for home made face and body scrub that works amaizingly for my skin which ill be sharing in my blog soon.:-) but i do like to try out some new products which are readily available just to try something new and to find out what is working best for my skin.. So that is how i ended up buying this scrub from lotus.. :-) and am glad that i did :-)

PRICE : INR 225 for 180gm

SHELF LIFE : 3 Years.

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS ??

DIRECTION :

TIP OF THE DAY :-).. When you exfoliate your skin it removes all the dead skin cells which forms a layer  on your skin.. when this layer is removed your actual skin is exposed.. thus it causes heavy damage when it comes in contact with sun.. exfoliated skin is more prone to sun damage. so it is important to use a sun screen. :-)

INGREDIENT LIST :

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT

It comes in a huge tube packaging with a flip open cap.. it is also available in smaller version which is very travel friendly. I am so bad in describing the fragrance :-( but lemee try :-P it smells like a mixture of sandalwood and some fruit.. :-) it fades away once you wash the face. :-) It has a very creamy texture and hence it is very easy to work the scrub into your face.. the granules are in brown color and it is quite big and chunky.. so this scrub is not for people with heavy acne or pimple problem. It can be lil harsh on them.. but for people with normal skin it works amaizingly.. as the granules are too big one should be light handed while working the product.. my face feels completely clean and soft after using the scrub..it removes my whitehead completely :-).. skin becomes little dry after using the scrub which is quite normal so moisturizer should be used..

PROS

1. It cleanses the skin very well.
2. Skin feels really soft.
3. you get huge quantity so its gonna last for a very long time.
4. removes blackhead or whitehead.

CONS

1.not suitable for people with pimple or acne problem.
2. it contains paraben.

MY OVER ALL OPINION

I love this scrub a lot..:-) it exfoliates really well. my skin feels really soft.. but this scrub is not for people with pimple or acne problem.. since the granules are too big it can be harsh on them..

MY RATING

4.5/5

THANK YOU :-)
