REVIEW ON LOTUS HERBALS APRISCRUB

Hello ladies :-) hope you are all doing good.. weekend is here and its time to relax ourselves from busy schedules.. Today i am gonna talk about my current skin care favorite.. i have been loving this stuff recently so much :-) .. and its a face scrub by LOTUS called ''LOTUS HERBALS APRISCRUB''.. I love exfoliating my skin regularly.. it makes my skin soft and get rid of my dead cells.. I exfoliate my skin once in three days.. I have few recipes for home made face and body scrub that works amaizingly for my skin which ill be sharing in my blog soon.:-) but i do like to try out some new products which are readily available just to try something new and to find out what is working best for my skin.. So that is how i ended up buying this scrub from lotus.. :-) and am glad that i did :-)

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS ??

DIRECTION :

TIP OF THE DAY :-).. When you exfoliate your skin it removes all the dead skin cells which forms a layer  on your skin.. when this layer is removed your actual skin is exposed.. thus it causes heavy damage when it comes in contact with sun.. exfoliated skin is more prone to sun damage. so it is important to use a sun screen. :-)

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT

It comes in a huge tube packaging with a flip open cap.. it is also available in smaller version which is very travel friendly. I am so bad in describing the fragrance :-( but lemee try :-P it smells like a mixture of sandalwood and some fruit.. :-) it fades away once you wash the face. :-) It has a very creamy texture and hence it is very easy to work the scrub into your face.. the granules are in brown color and it is quite big and chunky.. so this scrub is not for people with heavy acne or pimple problem. It can be lil harsh on them.. but for people with normal skin it works amaizingly.. as the granules are too big one should be light handed while working the product.. my face feels completely clean and soft after using the scrub..it removes my whitehead completely :-).. skin becomes little dry after using the scrub which is quite normal so moisturizer should be used..

PROS

1. It cleanses the skin very well.
2. Skin feels really soft.
3. you get huge quantity so its gonna last for a very long time.
4. removes blackhead or whitehead.

CONS

1.not suitable for people with pimple or acne problem.
2. it contains paraben.

MY OVER ALL OPINION

I love this scrub a lot..:-) it exfoliates really well. my skin feels really soft.. but this scrub is not for people with pimple or acne problem.. since the granules are too big it can be harsh on them..

DO IT YOURSELF MILK AND SAFFRON FACE MASK

Hello friends :-) today i have a quick tip to share with you guys which i personally tried and enjoyed :-).. its a home remedy to reduce tan and brighten your face.. its a kind of luxury treatment you can give yourself at the comfort of your home.. I am talking about the milk and saffron face mask that you can make at home.. lets quickly see what milk and saffron can do to your face.. 

GOODNESS OF MILK :

 You would have heard this million times but yeah milk is an excellent misturizer to your skin.. it gives nourishment to your skin.. milk cleanses your skin and brings back the glow in your face.. it acts as anti tan removal agent and helps in brightening the face.. 

If you have oily skin you might think that milk may break you out but raw milk does not breaks you out.. its always good to use raw milk instead of boiled milk in your beauty regime.. you can mix milk with any face masks and it works wonder in your skin.

GOODNESS OF SAFFRON :

Saffron is kind of expensive and it is difficult to get pure saffron.. but few stores does have original saffron and you have to carefully choose the original one.. saffron is known to brighten up the complexion.  it gives you radiant look.. it has anti fungal properties which helps in reducing acne and blemishes. saffron's aroma helps in reducing stress.. saffron intake has lot of health benefits too.

MILK AND SAFFRON FACE MASK

YOU WILL NEED

1. Two table spoon of raw milk
2. Few strands of saffron

PROCEDURE :

Soak few strands of saffron in two table spoons of milk for two to three hours..

APPLICATION :

This mask can be very runny.. so take a cotton ball and dip it inside the mixture , squeeze the excess.. apply all over the face and neck and massage it in.. Massage it for about five to ten minutes and leave it on for about twenty minutes then wash it off.

This face mask is really helpful in reducing the dryness and nourish your skin.. it gives a healthy glow to your face.. lot of skin brightening  products in the market has saffron has their main ingredient..

REVIEW ON THE MAYBELLINE COLORSENSATIONAL JEWEL LIPSTICK IN NO 630 RUBYLICIOUS.

Hello friends.. happy monday :-) I am a huge fan of lipsticks.. i always prefer a lipstick rather than a lip gloss.. because lip glosses doesnt have enough pigmentation in general and they do not stay for a very long time. If i had to choose only one makeup product throughout my entire life it would be a lipstick.. If am not in a mood to wear any makeup and i have to attend a party or a function all i do is throw on some kajal and  a bright  lipstick that makes me look more put to gather and instantly brightens my face :-) 

Today am gonna review one of such bright lipsticks which can instantly brighten your face.. it is by the maybelline and its from their colorsensational JEWEL COLLECTION in the shade no 630 RUBYLICIOUS. 

PRICE : RS 430 but some online sites offers them in discounted rate..

MY OPINION ON THE LIPSTICK

It comes in cute packaging.. It shut closes with a click. and it is sturdy.. bullet inside has the brand name printed on it. it smells like vanilla flavoured cakes.. omg i love the smell.. if you dont like any fragrance on your lipstick then you may not like it.. but to me it smells delicious i almost feel like eating it. ;-)..

 it goes really smooth on my lips..it moisturizes my lips as well.. one swipe is just enough to get that bright color. its highly pigmented. This particular shade will suit almost all indian skin tones.. it is a deep deep red with purplish pink undertone to it..

This is how it looks on my lips..this picture above was taken in natural lighting .. i wore this last week.. it gives almost a glossy finish to the lips.. after two hours i had a cup of coffee.. It does get transferred into the cup.. glossiness of the lipstick was gone after having my coffee but the color stayed intact..

This picture above was taken nine hours after applying the lipstick.. it survived a cup of coffee , four glasses of water and my dinner ( i had fried rice that day ) :-p.. so it stayed really well.. though the color faded away like fifty percent.. it faded very evenly..my lips felt moisturized throughout which was amaizing :-D

DUPES FOR THIS LIPSTICK :

when i swatched this lipstick for review purpose i kind of realized that i have exactly same shade in few other lipsticks and i wanted to share it with you guys :-) these dupes are much more affordable than the maybelline one.. but they vary in texture, finish and longitivity but shade wise they are damn close :-)

 I have two dupes for this rubylicious they are AVON SIMPLY PRETTY POP LOVE LIPSTICK IN PL02 WATERMELON and ELLE 18 COLOR POPS IN NO 45 CHERRY RED.

From left to right i have swatched elle18 color pops in cherry red , avon simply pretty watermelon and maybelline rubylicious.. in this picture avon's simply pretty looks lil bit pinkish but it goes on extremely similar on my lips. 

In this picture am wearing maybelline superlicious on my upper lips and avon simply pretty pop love lipstick in PL02 watermelon on my lower lips.. like i said it varies in texture and pigmentation.. maybelline one gives a glossy finish but avon one gives semi matte finish.. you need to swipe the avon lipstick a couple of time to get that color pay off.. but maybelline rubylicious just gives that color in a single swipe.. avon lipstick retails for rs 139 but you can always get this at discount.. 

In this above picture am wearing maybelline rubylicious on my upper lips and elle 18 color pops in cherry red on my lower lips.. it looks exactly the same.. it gives exactly the same finish but elle18 one doesnt stay for longer time.. elle18 colorpops in cherry red retails for rs120. I have tried quite a few shades from these lipsticks and needless to say i totally love them.. for the price we pay it works amaizingly.. such a pocket friendly yet quality product :-)

PROS 

1. Glides smoothly 

2. moisturizes my lips . so you dont need a lipbalm underneath.

3. stays for 8-9 hours ( survives even a meal )

4. worth the money 

5. this particular shade can flatter lot of skin tones.

6. adorable packaging.

7. its smells delicious which i love.

CONS 

1. It gets transferred which is quite normal.

2. glossiness wears off after few hours but the color stays intact though.

MY OVERALL OPINION 

I absolutely love this lipstick.. it has a smooth texture and it stays really well.. great color which can suit most of the skin tones..

REVIEW ON THE KHADI HERBAL FACIAL MASSAGE GEL.

Hello guys.. :) hope you all had a wonderful weekend like i did.. its really warm in chennai now.. the sun is at its peak for the past couple of days..:( summers in india can be really harsh.. literally burning..:-( so today i am gonna talk about a product which helped me a lot during this summer to keep my skin lil bit cooler.. Now the product that am talking about is from KHADI which is called HERBAL FACIAL MASSAGE GEL.. i ordered this product online a few months ago and used it a lot during this summer.. it says it has aloe vera , neem and basil and it helps to prevent pimples.. i dont get pimples that often but i wanted to try this product coz its herbal and i love gel products for my face especially during summer.

PRICE : INR 180 for 100 ML

SHELF LIFE : 24 months

KEY INGREDIENTS : neem extract, basil extract, teatree extract, clove extract, ashwagandha extract, lavender extract, sea buck thorn extract, demineralized water, propyl glycol, glycerine, stabalized aloevera gel,carbomer, kathon cg, sodium hydroxide, xylitylglucoside, anhydroxylitol, xylitol, aloevera extract, liquorice extract, color, fragrance.

DIRECTIONS : apply in a circular motion on the face and neck. wipe off with a moist cotton pad. rinse with water and pat dry.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT :

It comes in a glass gar with a black plastic cap..and there is a white plastic lid when you open the cap which is good..the tub feels quite heavy.. it is a green color gel but it is almost sheer when you take it out and spread it. it smells like my dads brylcream.. if you dont know what is brylcream its basically a styling hair cream for men.. my dad has been using brylcream for ages.. so am quite familiar with the smell.. its lil bit too strong but fades away after few minutes. 

Its basically a gel mask for your face according to the direction.. you have to apply in circular motion and wash it off after sometimes.. but i use it rather as a leave in face gel.. i even  tried using this as a mask..

AS A MASK :  i have a combination skin my T zone area is oily and the rest of the area fels lil bit dry. i applied this on my face as a mask and left it for about ten minutes.. it became sticky instead of drying.. and then i washed it off.. my face felt completely cleansed.. it made my skin so clear.. and once when i patted my face dry it felt lil bit dry so i had to apply a moisturizer.. it is a very good product for people with oily skin.. its definitely gonna control oil in your skin.. i had a pimple near my nose when i tried this as a mask and to my surprise it did really dried my pimple..

AS A LEAVE IN GEL: i used to keep this gel in fridge.. i used a take little bit of this gel and apply during those days when it is really hot outside.. you need only tineast amount for your whole face and neck.. if you take more its gonna feel sticky but not oily.. during summer my face starts to sweat when i apply any moisturizer so this was a great alternative for me.. but remember you have to apply only a tiny amount if you want to use this as a normal leave in gel.

The product says its for all skin type but i think its gonna work well only for people with normal to oily skin.. people with dry skin may have to skip this product.

1. it cannot be used by people with dry skin.

REVIEW ON THE OXYGLOW ALMOND UNDER EYE REPAIR CREAM

Hello everyone :) so weekend is almost here.. which means its time to relax yourself and take a break from all those busy routine.. well i have a movie plan with my family this weekend :) so lets get into todays topic without any delay. Today am gonna talk about a under eye cream from OXY GLOW which is called ''ALMOND UNDER EYE REPAIR CREAM''. I had my exams last month and i had to study late nights. and after my exams i started watching movies late night which resulted in dark circle.. it was too obvious and i had to do something about it..I bought this under eye cream a while ago and have been using this on and off, but not regularly.. but recently i thought i should use it regularly and see whether it works.. So i started using this cream regularly and its been three to four weeks now.. i thought its time for me to share my view on this product.. so here it is :)

PRICE : INR 198 for 12gm

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS ??

Bring out your inner youth with this impressive under eye cream. natural aoils and extracts combines together to restore radiance and reduce the appearance of fine lines. its revitalising effects, also deflates puffiness and reduces dark circles.

INGREDIENTS : aqua, almond oil, GMS, glycerin, vitamin e, carrot oil, aloe vera extract, nutmeg oil, lemon extract.

DIRECTION FOR USE : Cleanse the area around eyes. using ring finger, apply the cream and massage gently from inner corner towards the outer part of the eye. for infinite harmony, apply twice a day, preferably after bath ( in morning ) and before going to bed ( in night )

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT :

First of all the packaging in my opinion looks sophisticated.. to me it looks like some highend cream.. it comes in a little glass jar with a white plastic cap with the name written on it. it is quite sturdy.. it smells like mixture of almond oil and some milk cream.. it is not too over powering..

 It has a very thick creamy texture.. it doesnt not get absorbed into the skin.. even if i apply the tineast amount it does not get absorbed and it feels greasy. it feels heavy on my under eye area. i used to leave it over night..it feels greasy even when i wake up in the morning.. it is not suitable for day time it will definitely melt away whatever makeup that i am wearing on top of it :-(....i have'nt noticed any improvement with my dark circles.. i do have fine lines under my eyes, this cream doesnt do anything on the fine lines as well. :-(

PROS

1. packaging looks so sophisticated
2. ingredient list is too attractive.
3. though it feels greasy, it moisturizes the under eye area..

CONS

1. it feels very heavy
2. doesnt get absorbed
3. it does not reduce dark circle.
4. it doesnt do anything about the fine lines.
5. it melts away the eye makeup so its not a day time eye cream.

MY FINAL VERDICT :

I absolutely hate this product except for the packaging.. ingredient list is quite attractive but there is no improvement with my dark circle or with my fine lines.. it doesnt do what it claims..

REVIEW ON GREEN LEAF PURE ALOE VERA SKIN GEL

Hello every one :) i am really excited about this post.. because its a review on my absolute favorite beauty product that i have been using for years now.. it is the product by BRIHANS called GREEN LEAF PURE ALOE VERA SKIN GEL.. i have emptied so many tubs of this gel and it is a staple product in my vanity.. i always have a tub sitting in my vanity.. this is one among the few products which will probably never go out of my beauty regime.. i dont know why i havent done a review on it so far :-p but yeah here is my review on the gel.

PRICE : RS 100 FOR 120gm

SHELF LIFE : 3 years..

first time when i bought this product it costed rs 75.. then they gradually increased the price to rs80 then to rs85, 90, 95, now it retails for rs 100 :/

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT SAYS ??

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE GREEN LEAF ALOE VERA GEL..

  As i mentioned before, i got introduced to this gel long time ago.. i have been loving this product since then.. it comes in a cute packaging like this. the tub is made of sturdy transparent plastic with a white twist open cap... they have a smaller version and a bigger version of this gel and they have launched pump container recently.. 

when you open the white plastic cap of the product it is sealed with aluminium foil with the brand name printed on it.. i opened it like this :-p and this is how the gel looks like inside the tub.. it looks greenish but when you take it out it is actually a clear gel.. you cant even see the green tint to it.. it smells really good like leaves .. am sure they have added artificial fragrance to the gel.. but it is not too strong..

So this is how it look like when you take it out.. you need very lil amount to moisturize your entire face and neck.. it has so many benefits to it which i have personally experienced.. it is mentioned in the product that it can be used on acne, rashes, minor skin eruptions, sunburn, minor cuts, wounds, and skin allergies.. which is absolutely fantastic.. it reduces the inflammation , redness or any skin irritations.. i tend to use this a lot during summer.. during summer my skin gets little oily and it sweats a lot so i use this gel instead of a moisturizer.. it gives a light cooling effect which feels good during hot summer.. it takes a minute or two to get absorbed into the skin.. it can be used as a night cream which leaves my skin nice and smooth the next morning.. 

PROS

1. affordable
2. multi tasking product.. it has so many benefits to it.
3. cute and sturdy packaging.
4. it will last for a long time.
5. gives a cooling effect to the skin which feels relaxing during hot summer.
6. available everywhere.. i got mine in a local pharmacy..

CONS

1. i dont think it is hundred percent pure aloe vera.. they definitely contain preservatives and artificial fragrance.

WHAT IS MY OVERALL THOUGHTS ??

I absolutely love this product.. i think it is a must have in every house hold.. i mean its not only a beauty product it also has medicinal uses.. i definitely recommend this product to every skin type.. such a great multi tasking product..

REVIEW ON KHADI HERBAL MOISTURIZER IN ROSE AND HONEY.

Hello every one :) hope you guys are enjoying the weekend.. today am gonna talk about a product from khadi which is called '' KHADI HERBAL MOISTURIZER ROSE AND HONEY''.. I ordered a travel kit from khadi online and i got a shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and soap... i got them in a mini sized bottle.. i dint like any other product from the travel kit except for this one.. i loved this moisturizer and so i ordered two more full sized bottles :).. and its not animal tested. :) 

so this is how the full sized bottle looks like and next to it is the mini one i got from the travel kit..

PRICE : rs 130 for 210 ml

SHELF LIFE : 2 YRS.

WHAT DOES IT SAYS ??

      Apply on body and hand after cleansing or washing . suitable for all skin types. keeps the skin hydrated throughout the day leaving a soft, comforting and lingering fragrance.

DIRECTIONS :

    Massage face, neck and nape in an upward motion for atleast two or three minutes. use twice daily..

INGREDIENTS :

rose honey, almond oil, wheatgerm oil, jojoba oil, aloevera.

MY EXPERIENCE ON THE KHADI ROSE AND HONEY MOISTURIZER.

      I have been using this product for almost a month now.. i have emptied a 30 ml mini bottle and 2/3 rd of my full sized bottle.. the full sized bottle is not so travel friendly so i transferred the moisturizer into the mini bottle when i traveled to my parents native a few weeks back.. it smells like roses.. and i love the smell.. it is lil bit too strong.. and stays on for 1 to 2 hrs after applying.. so people with sensitive nose might face problem. the lotion has a light pink tint to it and it has a perfect consistency of a lotion.. neither too runny nor too thick.. it does what it says.. it keeps the skin moisturized through out the day.. i used to slather this moisturizer on my arms and legs during the night time and the next morning even if i dont apply the lotion it keeps my skin  soft and supple throughout.. 

this is how the lotion looks like. when i start spreading the lotion into my body it creates a white lather like layer which i hate.. but when i massage the lotion for just a few seconds it gets absorbed into the skin.. and thats what the product says . you have to massage it for two to three minutes..

this is how it turns when i try to spread it..

when i massage the lotion it gets absorbed.. but it feels lightly greasy for four to five minutes after massaging.

PROS

1. very affordable
2. chemical free ( atleast thats what they say)
3. keeps then skin moisturized for a very long time
4. fragrance is so nice.. but this can be a con as well.
5. sturdy packaging.. it is not going to leak in your bag.

CONS

1. packaging is not so travel friendly
2. the smell can be too strong for people with sensitive nose.
3. feels greasy for 4 to 5 min.. so you have to wait to put on our clothes.

MY OVER ALL OPINION

It is a very good product at an affordable price.. keeps the skin soft for a long time. but it takes time to get fully absorbed..
